The collaboration between Miami HEAT and STAR WARS was an exciting and rewarding project. I had the opportunity to work on an animation that was displayed across all the LEDs in the Kaseya Center arena. The concept centered around a dynamic camera sequence that launched and traveled through space, simulating the perspective of a spaceship cockpit. It was a thrilling project to be a part of, blending creative vision with cutting-edge technology.
The final scene was the most enjoyable to work on. After the rapid camera movement, it transitions to reveal the Miami HEAT Ball and Flame logo alongside a Star Wars lightsaber. I created a dry, barren planet surface in Unreal Engine and experimented with camera movement and composition to achieve a dynamic and impactful landing.
The animation begins with a departure from the destroyed hangar, transitioning into the middle scene and then the final shot. The hangar was lit and textured using Octane Render to achieve a realistic and visually striking effect.
The animation was adapted into various sizes to fit the multiple LED displays throughout the arena.
